I was about 3 weeks behind in my album and I just got caught up yesterday so I really don't have time to post all my photos from the 3 weeks. Most of them are pretty ordinary anyway! I do have some nice ones from my daughter's graduation on May 9, so the next time I post I''ll include a few of those.

Monday - Laundry day

Tuesday - I had to call around to get people to serve at an upcoming church luncheon

Wednesday - A display of ceramic art at the art gallery at City Hall

Thursday - Moncton City Hall where several events went on for the annual Frye Literary Festival this week.

Here are last week's pictures. Monday - Our cat Mo, Tuesday - some of the many theatre posters at Moncton High School. The top row is all the musical productions our youngest daughter was in during her 4 years at MHS. Wednesday - a scene from "Into the Woods" at MHS which we went to see Wednesday night. Thursday - My "55 New Things" album (note all the album can be seen at http://pamslayouts.blogspot.com/ ) . Friday - these crocuses grow near the railroad tracks and they always mean "spring is coming" to me. Saturday - This is John Raulston Saul, a Canadian writer who spoke about his new book as part of the Frye Literary Festival which is now on in Moncton. He spoke at Moncton City Hall. Sunday - Members of the UCW (women's group) and friends put on the church service this day. It concentrated on the environment and on the need to protect the planet. On the left are portrayed Air, Water and Land.

Monday - All this week the World Men's Curling Championship is taking place in Moncton. we didn't get to any of the games but watched a lot on TV. Here Kevin Martin, the Canadian skip holds the broom.

Tuesday - This week I sorted and cleaned my closet and dressers. Here are some of the bags of clothing to give away.

Wednesday - Some tidy dresser drawers.

Thursday - I started an album on "55 New Things" I listed between last birthday and this one. Here is the cover I made today.

Friday - My daughter Nicole go the weekend off from work so she came home for Easter weekend. Here she and my husband watch TV while she works on a cross-stitch.

Saturday - Me, daughter Nicole and mother-in-law Annette on the patio behind Annette's residence.

Sunday - Look what the Easter Bunny brought! We woke up to this snow and it snowed all day.

Monday - It snowed a lot and here's one of the dogs with snow on his back.

Tuesday - A bowl of the homemade granola that a friend of mine sent me for my birthday. Yum!

Wednesday - This is our cleaning lady, Gwen, who has been coming over to clean our house for many years. The dogs like her too.

Thursday - My husband took pictures of all the staff and some visitors in the radiology department with bunny ears and a toy rabbit. He has taken some in the past with St. Patrick's day props.

Friday - Here's our hockey arena converted to a curling arena for the Men's World Curling Championships. We attended the opening ceremony and were treated to bands, the NB Youth Orchestra, choirs, singers and dancers.

Saturday - Because of the curling the hockey team has to play some of their playoff games at this smaller arena. Here they start the 2nd game of the 2nd series against Rimouski, Quebec.

Sunday - Despite the patches of snow and dirty old snowbanks, there are a few signs of spring, such as these bulb shoots beside the house.

Monday March 23 - Mo, the cat, always seems to be looking for a

chance to get outside. We have to watch out for him, especially as the

weather improves.

Tuesday March 24 - The snow came back! We had quite a bit of snow and wind today. Nicky enjoyed it!

Wednesday March 25 - A morning

ritual whenever I have time: reading

the local paper and drinking coffee out of my favourite mug from the Toronto Maple Leafs which I like because it is a big mug.

Thursday March 26 - Tonight at choir practice I was presented with

this fine cake and a card for my upcoming birthday. One of the choir members made the cake and sent it along even though she was to sick with a cold to come to practice. She's so sweet! And the cake was delicious!

Friday March 27 - I spent lots of time today getting ready for the next day's crop. Here's some of the things I had to take over to the church.

Saturday March 28 - I had 18 women come to the crop today and all seemed to have a good time.

Sunday March 29 - This Sunday the women of the choir, with a few additions, sang the prelude, offertory and postlude. One of the men in the choir took this pictures while we were practicing before church. There was a smudge on my lens which I didn't

notice as I wasn't taking the pictures.

Tuesday March 17 - This picture is actually from last night and is the interior of the Roman Catholic Cathedral where I went to hear a wonderful concert of organ and voice. They had a great turnout.

Wednesday March 18- Moncton City Hall. The flags in front are those of the various countries which will be participating in the World Men's Curling Championship here in April.

Thursday March 19 - my KOTM for Project 365 finally came! I have been using my other album so far so I will keep this one for next year.

Friday March 20 - Our Junior Hockey Team is starting the playoffs so here they are warming up for their first game against the PEI Rocket. Our team (the Wildcats) won 7-1.

Saturday March 21 - Second game of the playoffs. Here they are facing the flags as "O Canada" is sung before the game. We have a US flag also as we have one team in the league from Maine. As you can see the guys have all died their hair blond for the playoffs. Wildcats won 5-0.

Sunday March 22 - The men of our church choir sang today and the women had a "day off". Next week the women sing. Here they are singing the prelude before the service.

Friday March 13 - Boston Pizza, a restaurant we often go to. Nothing to do with Boston, really. The man who started this chain is from Alberta and was a Boston Bruins fan.

Saturday March 14 - Marcel with his cousin Dave and Dave's wife Diane. We had dinner at their place.

Sunday March 15 - Framed picture and jersey of Luc Bourdon, who used to play with our local junior hockey team, went to the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL, and was killed in a motorcycle accident last May. There was a tribute to Luc before the game on Sunday.

Monday March 16 - Maurice LeBlanc gives a presentation to the Rotary Club/Downtown Moncton Inc. luncheon about the Community Peace Center being established at our church building.

Monday March 9 Tucker is sick again and has a new vet appointment on Wednesday.

Tuesday March 10 Here our junior hockey team, the Moncton Wildcats, accept the "Rivalry Cup" for having a higher % of seats filled at the arena than another NB team, the Saint John Sea Dogs.

Wed. March 11 Some asparagus with live oil and kosher salt waiting to be baked. I like doing it that way.

Thurs. March 12 Nicky (dog) and Mo (cat) - a really odd way to sleep in a dog bed!

(By the way Tucker is better since he went back on special food and he vet gave him a new prescription for prednisone.)

I do my weeks Monday to Sunday so here's the rest of the week:

Tuesday March 3: Our dog Tucker is starting to feel better as seen by the fact that he is now again interested in chasing the cats. Boots, our oldest cat, is obviously not too concerned with this change in behaviour.

Wednesday March 4: A guilty pleasure: crispy chicken and taters at the supermarket. I occasionally have this for lunch and I did this day as I had to go pick a few things up at the store.

Thursday March 5: About once a week it's time to go through the mail and pay bills. What a load of paper! I could do some of this on line but somehow it just seems easier this way.

Friday March 6: I have been scrapbooking again after some time off and this week I have been working on pages from the Mediterranean cruise our family went on in 2007. Here is Miletus in Turkey.

Saturday March 7: Another cat, Cookie this time, enjoying the basket. Cookie is such a little girl but with a loud voice.

Sunday March 8: I decided to take a photo of our church bulletin.

Friday Feb 27 - Our dog Tucker who has been sick and has had various tests done and medication to take. Here he is standing and hanging his head which is what he does when he isn't feeling well.

Saturday Feb. 28 - Me and my table-mates at the all-day crop I went to at a church. This was at the beginning of the day. We made way more mess as the day went on.

Sunday March 1 - One of our cats, Oliver.

Monday March 2 - The hospital where my husband works and where I had to go today for blood tests. A busy place the blood testing area!

Here are a few of the recent days' pictures:

Monday Feb. 23 - our paper delivery lady is awesome! On a day when we had so much snow that even some of the plows went off the road, she somehow managed to get out and deliver the paper! She couldn't near the mailbox by the door of course. The view is out our front door before I shoveled the steps. The sidewalk was still unplowed at this time as well.

Tuesday Feb. 24 - some of the members of our Church Council meeting in a committee during our Council Meeting. I am in my third year as Council Secretary and I also did this job for 3 years a few years ago.

Wednesday Feb. 25 - Guess I won't be barbecuing any time soon! Our back deck with lots of snow on it.

Thursday Feb. 26 - I spent some time at the church today cleaning out some of the old Sunday School classrooms with Sheila, who is in this picture. We found lots of junk!

And I intend to stay that way! Actually I just have so much to catch up on after having been away in Antarctica and Argentina that I have decided to skip a few weeks on this blog. Last night my husband and I attended a reception in honour of the 10th Anniversary of the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute. The reception was in the lobby at City Hall and the pictures shows the founder and CEO of the institute, our friend Rodney Ouellette, speaking.

I spent much of the day doing laundry and packing for our trip to South America and Antarctica. This is the bag I will be taking on the Antarctic cruise part of the trip. It can't weigh more than 33 pounds.

This weekend the Timbits Hockey Tournament was held. This is a fun tournament for age 5-8 year old players and sponsored by Tim Horton's, a chain of coffee and doughnut shops. During the Saturday and Sunday Junior hockey games the participants and their coaches paraded during the 2nd intermission. This tournament is held all over Canada but started in Moncton. Many now-famous NHL players have passed through the Timbits hockey program. "Timbits" by the way are little doughnuts, like "doughnut holes", so a good name for these tiny hockey players.

This cardstock and other items are well travelled. Somehow in ordering it, the country part of my address got changed from Canada to Afghanistan! I didn't notice and the whole shipment was sent from Scrap Your Trip in Florida to Afghanistan and then sent back again because I wasn't there and then finally to me after we straightened it all out with a few emails back and forth. They ended up not charging me extra shipping to Canada and gave me a lot of the cardstock at no charge because it was slightly damaged in transit back and forth to Afghanistan. This was offered to me and I accepted it and I have to say the damage was pretty minimal in my estimation and the paper is certainly usable. I highly recommend this online store! Anyway it arrived today.

Today I received this album and page protectors, made by We R Memory Keepers, from Scrapbook.com. As my Becky Higgins/CK kit is on back-order (just found that out), I decided to use this set-up for my Project 365. I downloaded the journaling boxes and other items that were posted by CK and Becky, printed some to go ahead with and started filing my pictures and notes.

Here comes the #5 bus, which stops just across the street from my house. I take it to go to the hairdresser. It's so convenient, almost like a (big) taxi only cheaper!

January 15 - Mother and daughter cat. Mom (Boots) is stretched out in front and her remaining daughter, Cookie, is curled up near the pillows.

January 17 - Me and my Christmas Mini-Album Class . I taught this at the crop I had on Saturday and it is the first time I had so many people in a class. They all enjoyed it anyway.

Some more pictures for my Project 365 book.

Moncton High School - the school my three daughters all attended. In the news a lot

lately because it requires considerable repair work. An architectural treasure which was built in 1953. Photo taken January 13.

Our 4 cats: Boots, who was a stray we acquired almost 13 years ago (black, white boots,fluffy). Cookie, her one remaining daughter who was 12 on August 31 (black, white boots, short hair). Mo (black and white but more white) and Oliver (orange). Also Boots' medication for a thyroid condition which we have to rub in her ear twice a day. Photos taken January 14.

Final package and tickets for our trip to Argentina and Antarctica: We leave here on January 29. Photo taken earlier but will be used for January 14.

I still can't get my MIL's birthday dinner picture to load. Giving up on that.

January 10 - My mother-in-law's birthday dinner at a restaurant. Not the best picture but when I took it my memory card was full so no more chances to take one

January 11 - Our junior hockey team, the Moncton Wildcats, play the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles (unfortunately the Eagles won this one).

January 12 - My scrap room. Just messy enough that it shows I have been working. Also a bonus picture of our cat, Mo, sitting in a basket.

(note - having trouble uploading the last picture. I'll finish later). Oh for some reason the picture from my mil's birthday won't upload. Then I got a second picture of the hockey game and can't get rid of it. I don't know why...

January 8 - One of our dogs, Nicky, who is a White

German Shepherd and is about 12 years old, loves to sit out in the snow. Here he is in our back yard.

January 9 - There was a tribute to the armed forces troops at our

junior hockey game last night. Lighting was tricky but this is the best picture I got. There was a pipe band, troops and their families there and cadets carried out a big Canadian flag. Spectators were asked to wear red.

January 5 - Canada and Sweden face off at the beginning of the World Junior Hockey Championships (on TV). Canada won and I have another picture of them with their medals, all in a pile the way they do, but I like this face-off one.

January 6 - I partially tidied up a store room that had a big mess of suitcases etc. This is the result.

January 7 - Christmas ornaments in the process of being put away.

Project 365

I did this last year and really enjoyed it. What is Project 365? It involves taking a picture every day of the year and using that process to record the year in your or your family's life. There was a bit of talk about it last year and I thought it would be a great project and really enjoyed doing it. This year there is even more talk because of a new kit out from Creating Keepsakes and Becky Higgins to help do this project. Many people I know are starting this year so I thought I would create this blog to document my success in Project 365 for 2009. I hope it will encourage those who are starting for the first time. To see how I did it last year, check out the post on my other blog, "Pam's Place. See links on left.

Some ideas I found helpful last year:

- If you have a chance to take some "generic" or seasonal pictures one day, do so. They will come in handy on those days in the week you don't get a specific picture. Give yourself permission to use these photos from "nearby" days.

- If you miss a few days during the year, don't give up. You will still have an amazing picture of your life over the course of the year.

- Nothing special happening in your life? Take a picture of your radio, your coffee pot (both morning necessities for me!), your favourite TV program, your computer... or the always reliable and cute dog or cat.

- Use this project to help you really look around at your day to day life. What does your supermarket look like? Did you notice that in the spring there are bags of earth outside it? In fall, pumpkins? At least mine has those. What seasonal decorations does your town put up? Carry a camera to church and take a picture of the Thanksgiving or Christmas decorations. Just how messy is your scrapbooking room anyway, and how does that show that you have been busy?
